MRI's changing role in radiotherapy

Prof. Dr. Uulke van der Heide describes MR’s changing role in radiotherapy and his collaboration with Philips to bring MR-only simulation for RT planning from the lab to the clinic. The Philips Ingenia MR-RT platform now supports MR-only simulation for planning the treatment of prostate cancer patients.

Prof. Dr. van der Heide is a medical physicist at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam.

MR-only simulation in prostate cancer radiotherapy

MR-only simulation in prostate cancer radiotherapy

Clinicians at Finland’s Turku University Hospital have streamlined their workflow for prostate cancer radiotherapy with MR-only simulation.
MR-only simulation for general pelvis

MR-only simulation for general pelvis3

MR-only simulation for general pelvis3 lets you plan radiation therapy for pelvic soft-tissue cancers, including rectal, bladder, gynecological and prostate using MR imaging data only. Adopting a single-modality workflow helps avoid tedious and error-prone CT-MR registration, simplify workflows and lower the economic barrier for MRI integration.
