AI cloud-based automated quantitative reporting

Smart Reading is the industry‘s first seamless [1] integration of validated AI cloud-based reading and quantitative reporting tools on the MR console for efficiency and improved outcomes. It enables real-time AI-driven report generation, optimized protocol settings and immediate scan quality feedback, all tailored for specific clinical needs like prostate cancer and chronic neurological diseases like Alzheimer’s disease or Multiple Sclerosis.

Philips Smart Reading

Zero-click quantitative report generation

Smart Reading enhances efficiency with a zero-click workflow [2] and ensures compliance with the latest clinical guidelines through advanced cloud processing, boosting clinical outcomes.

Alzheimer's diagnosis and treatment eligibility
Smart Reading integrates icometrix’ icobrain dm solution into the MR console that introduces reporting of brain and ventricular volumetrics to support the early detection of Alzheimer and differential diagnosis of the type of dementia. Based on 3D T1 and FLAIR imaging – the icobrain dm report provides quantified information on affected brain areas and a baseline assessment for treatment eligibility.

Monitoring of Multiple Sclerosis
Smart Reading integrates icometrix’ icobrain ms solution into the MR console makes objective detection and tracking of disease progression as well as evaluating treatment effectiveness possible. The icobrain ms report provides quantitative analysis of the inflammatory component of the disease, assessing longitudinal changes in FLAIR and T1 lesions. Additionally, icobrain ms can be used to assess changes in brain volume over time, which can be compared to age- and sex-matched healthy individuals.

Frequently asked questions

Smart Reading is available for all Philips MRI systems that can run on software release 12. It's available on the latest 1.5T and 3.0T portfolio, including installed base systems.

Smart Reading is seamlessly integrated into MR scanner and PACS workflow. After image acquisition, 0-clicks are needed to send the data to the cloud and get the quantitative report. There is no impact on scan time.

After acquisition, the data is anonymized and securely transferred to a cloud platform via the hospital network. The cloud platform is compliant with local regulations on data privacy.

Smart Reading only allows Cloud-based solutions. Contact your sales representative to explore the solutions that can address your needs.

You can get access to the quantitative report either on the PACS or directly the MR console.
Footnotes
  1. Seamless indicates the workflow is an automatically enabled post-processing step in MR-console. Validation of the AI applications is done by the 3rd party and not by Philips.
  2. Workflow refers to steps after completion of data-acquisition to AI processing. No additional user-interaction is required to send data to the External application cloud and to receive reports in PACS.
