Oslo, Norway – Royal Philips (NYSE: PHG, AEX: PHIA), a global leader in health technology, announces that it has been awarded the prestigious National AI Framework Agreement in Norway, solidifying its position as a leading provider of AI-driven healthcare solutions. The agreement, established with the largest healthcare region in Norway Helse Sør-Øst RHF, grants Philips the license to deliver the company’s AI Manager platform across the region. The framework also includes an option to expand into other regions, including Helse Nord, Helse Midt, and Helse Vest.

This competitive tender has positioned Philips alongside two other providers in a national frame agreement.  Philips distinguishes itself as the only provider with three reference sites already established in Norway using the Philips AI Manager to clinically access Gleamer Boneview, reinforcing the company’s leadership and proven success in delivering effective AI solutions. The reference sites are in Vestre Viken HF, Sykehuset Telemark HF and Akershus University hospital. This key advantage demonstrates Philips’ deep understanding of the local healthcare environment and its ability to implement AI solutions that add measurable value to clinical operations.

Philips' AI Manager platform, powered by technology partner Blackford Analysis, offers a robust and adaptable solution for healthcare organizations across Norway. The platform is designed to streamline the deployment and integration of AI into workflows, addressing the growing need for efficiency and precision in healthcare.

Transforming healthcare through technology

Philips’ AI Manager platform is part of the company’s broader commitment to transforming healthcare through technology. As healthcare providers face rising patient volumes, growing complexity in diagnoses, and increasing pressure to improve, AI offers a powerful tool to help meet these challenges. By incorporating advanced AI algorithms into clinical workflows, healthcare organizations can optimize processes, enhance diagnostic precision, and make more efficient use of medical staff and resources.

Additionally, Philips’ vendor-neutral approach ensures that healthcare providers can continue to integrate new and emerging AI technologies as they become available. This futureproofing is critical in a rapidly evolving field where innovation continues to drive improvements in patient care and operational efficiency.

The marketplace model offers healthcare organizations unprecedented flexibility, allowing them to choose from Philips’ extensive portfolio of AI algorithms. This open approach ensures that healthcare providers can access the latest innovations in AI technology and tailor their solutions to meet the unique demands within healthcare. Whether they need advanced diagnostic support for specific imaging modalities or tools that can optimize workflows, hospitals can select the solutions that best align with their clinical priorities.

Seamless integration of advance AI technology

The AI Manager platform is designed to be vendor-neutral and easily integrated into existing hospital IT infrastructures. This seamless integration is critical for ensuring that AI technologies do not disrupt current workflows but instead enhance efficiency. By enabling the smooth incorporation of AI algorithms, the platform allows hospitals to focus on improving diagnostic accuracy and optimizing resource allocation. AI can automate routine tasks such as image analysis, freeing personnel to focus on more complex cases.

The new framework agreement with Helse Sør-Øst offers additional opportunities for growth and collaboration across the country. It includes an option for expansion to the other regions, Helse Nord, Helse Midt, and Helse Vest, enabling Philips to broaden its reach and impact in Norwegian healthcare to deliver better care for more people.

"We are excited to be selected for this national framework and look forward to partnering with healthcare regions across Norway to support the implementation of advanced AI technology," said Terje Saetre, Country Manager Norway, Philips Health Systems. "Our AI Manager platform is designed to provide seamless integration, enhance clinical workflows, and empower healthcare professionals to deliver better patient care. We have already shown that it works in Vestre Viken. With this framework, we’re offering a truly scalable solution that adapts to the needs of each healthcare organization, while giving them access to a wide array of innovative AI tools. “
